Position Summary
As a Business Development Manager at ABGi, you will report to a Senior Sales Director supporting a focused territory. In this highly collaborative partnership, you will operate as a strategic revenue generator responsible for pipeline creation, opportunity development, and quota attainment while building immediate credibility, trust, and long-term client relationships through consistent outbound engagement and lead development.
This role is a hybrid position based in Houston, Texas, requiring in-office presence 3–4 days per week to foster collaboration, coaching, and team alignment, unless otherwise directed by leadership.
You will be successful in this role if you approach business development through a consulting lens rather than a transactional sales mindset - engaging prospects in meaningful dialogue about their business priorities, challenges, and growth initiatives to identify where ABGi’s full suite of services can create value.
Key Responsibilities
· Engage prospective clients in business-level conversations focused on understanding their current priorities, operational challenges, and strategic initiatives to uncover opportunity fit.
· Qualify customer needs and requirements to ensure alignment with service offerings and minimum engagement criteria.
· Follow up with prospects and inbound leads in a timely and structured manner, maintaining a strong sense of urgency and commitment to advancing opportunities toward close.
· Maintain a solution-oriented and advisory mindset, proactively partnering with the team and Senior Director to evaluate pipeline health, opportunity strategy, and next best actions.
· Route qualified opportunities to the Senior Director for further development and closing, ensuring clear, complete, and well-qualified handoffs that accelerate deal velocity.
· Maintain and expand a database of prospects using cold outreach, marketing channels, and assigned tools, while continuously identifying new areas of opportunity within target accounts.
· Understand weekly / monthly quota expectations and partner with the Sales Director to reverse-engineer performance targets into daily and weekly execution metrics using Salesforce.
· Collaborate with sales support teams on customer accounts, appointment setting, and pipeline acceleration needs to ensure smooth execution and strong internal alignment.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sales activity in Salesforce CRM daily, ensuring clean pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and disciplined execution.
Required Qualifications
· Proven experience conducting cold outreach and prospecting into SMB and middle-market companies with confidence and consistency.
· Strong experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce strongly preferred) with discipline in pipeline management and activity tracking.
· Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas with a strong understanding of sales funnel dynamics, conversion metrics, and pipeline velocity.
· Highly self-directed and proactive professional who consistently initiates activity, creates momentum, and advances opportunities without requiring external prompting.
· Thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and consistently rises to challenges with resilience, persistence, and urgency.
· Possesses a consultative business mindset with the ability to engage executives and decision-makers in meaningful dialogue about their business, not just transactional service inquiries.
· Demonstrates strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust quickly with prospective clients.
· MUST have grit, a strong commitment to performance excellence, and a deep competitive instinct to win, close business, and exceed expectations.
